Teztel was born in 1972 in Ankara and started her education in piano at the age of five. In 1978,
she entered Prof. Ova Sünder’s class as a part-time student at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory.
During her education, she participated in the masterclasses of Biret, Zaritskaya and Margulis. She completed the conservatory’s program in 1990 and also graduated from Istanbul American Robert College in the same year.

Teztel was accepted with scholarship to the Oberlin Conservatory in the USA, where she studied with Prof. Lydia Frumkin for four years.  At Oberlin, she gave recitals, was chosen into the teaching-assistant program and earned her “BM in Piano Performance” degree with the Oberlin Piano Jury Award.

She received her Master’s degree from Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1998 and  PhD degree  from ITU Dr. Erol Uçer Center for Advanced Music Research (MIAM) in 2007.  During her education at MIAM, she studied with the state artist, Ayşegül Sarıca. Teztel became an Associate Professor in 2011 and a Professor in 2017.

Teztel has given concerts in various countries, including, France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Kuwait and Armenia; and also in many cities in Turkey. She has played at international festivals,
such as the Turkish Season in France; Istanbul International Music Festival and D-Marin Turgutreis Int. Music Festival. She has performed with  Alexander Markov, Albert Markov, Eduard Tadevosyan and
Yair Kless and also has given recitals with Cihat Aşkın and Bahar Biricik. She gave many concerts as a member of the chamber music groups,“Trio’le,” “ Istanbul Modern Music Ensemble,” as a member of
the piano duo with Ilgın Aka and “Trio Avrasya.” The “Schumann”  music CD that Teztel played with Cihat Aşkın was released in 2010 by Kalan Label.

Teztel is artist faculty at the piano department at the Istanbul University State Conservatory and also teaches classes and seminars on musical performance anxiety.
